Much of the town's rich history is visible on the Quay, one of Poole's major tourist attractions.  The Cockle Trail guides visitors around the old town's mix of Georgian and Medieval buildings bringing to life Poole's romantic seafaring history.

Poole is well provided with amenities, including covered shopping centres, the largest centre for the Arts outside London , Lighthouse, free interactive museum, world renown Poole Pottery and new attraction, Eileen Soper's Illustrated Worlds where literary characters including The Famous Five come to life.   Or for the more energetic try the four indoor sports centres and Tower Park complex which includes a 10 screen cinema, ten pin bowling and exhilarating water rides plus a huge choice of restaurants.
